How the profit margin calculator works
In Find margin mode, enter your cost and selling price to get gross profit, margin % (profit over selling price) and markup % (profit over cost). Add your marketplace commission, payment gateway fee, shipping and any other costs and the tool shows your true net profit and net margin after every deduction — so you know what you actually keep, not just the sticker margin.
Switch to Find selling price mode to reverse the maths: enter a cost and a target margin and the calculator returns the price you need to charge. Once you have priced a product, model a promotion with the discount calculator, add tax with the GST calculator, or check ad profitability with the ROAS calculator.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a percentage of the selling price; markup is profit as a percentage of the cost. A product bought at ₹100 and sold at ₹150 has a 50% markup but a 33.3% margin. This tool shows both so you don’t confuse them when pricing.
How do marketplace and gateway fees affect my profit?
Selling on a marketplace or taking online payments cuts into every sale. Enter your commission %, payment gateway % and shipping cost and the calculator shows your true net profit and net margin after all deductions.
What selling price should I set for a target margin?
Enter your cost and a target margin and the tool reverse-calculates the selling price you need. This is the fastest way to price a new product with a healthy margin baked in.
